Most New Zealanders trust that the products used around our schools, parks, roadsides, and food are carefully assessed and transparently regulated. That trust matters. But when we started digging into the evidence behind glyphosate and the weedkillers that contain it, we found gaps big enough to warrant a closer look.
NoMoreGlyphosate.nz was created to investigate those gaps.
We’re an independent, reader-funded project committed to examining the science, the policy, and the real-world impacts of glyphosate-based herbicides in Aotearoa. We ask the questions that too often go unanswered:
- What do the studies actually show?
- Are “safe levels” truly safe for everyone?
- How transparent are our regulators with the public?
- Why are residues turning up in everyday foods?
- And what alternatives exist that New Zealanders aren’t being told about?
We don’t claim to have all the answers. But we do believe New Zealanders deserve the full picture—presented clearly, calmly, and backed by evidence.
Our work includes:
- Independent laboratory testing of foods and products
- Investigative articles connecting emerging science with NZ policy
- Analysis of regulatory decisions and industry influence
- Community tools for parents, councils, schools, and ratepayers
- Practical solutions and safer alternatives already used in NZ and overseas
We’re not here to sensationalise.
We’re here because transparency protects public health—and because too many New Zealanders assume someone else is already looking out for them.
If the evidence tells a simple, reassuring story, we’ll say so.
If the evidence raises legitimate questions, we’ll investigate further.
And when we find gaps, conflicts, or patterns that matter, we’ll ask—openly and respectfully—why those issues aren’t being addressed.
