Like What We’re Doing?

We’re a small group trying to do big things — and we’re already being noticed. But we can’t do it alone.

Every jar of honey, box of cereal, and loaf of bread we’ve tested for glyphosate was only made possible thanks to people like you.

100% of donations go to lab testing — not admin or overheads.
We’ve already tested: honey (three times), Weet-Bix, popular cereals, and supermarket bread — and we’re just getting started.
Your monthly support of $10 or $20 or any amount of your choosing helps us plan future tests and keep pressure on food producers to do the right thing.

Not ready to commit monthly? One-off donations are also deeply appreciated and make a real difference to what we can test next.

Why Your Support Matters

Glyphosate is the most widely used herbicide in New Zealand, but it’s not something most of us expect — or want — in our food. Testing is the only way to know what’s really there, and every independent test is a powerful reminder to food producers that the public is watching.

But testing costs money — a lot of it. Each sample can cost hundreds of dollars to process through accredited labs (more on that below).

This is where you come in.

How You Can Help

  1. Sign up for our newsletter — Stay informed, see the results as they come in, and learn how you can take action in your own community.
  2. Make a financial contribution — Whether it’s a one-off donation or a monthly commitment, you’re helping us keep the pressure on.

Small, regular donations — even $10 or $20 a month — make a huge difference. They allow us to plan ahead, budget for new testing rounds, and keep momentum going.

Or if you prefer, directly into our bank account:

If you make a donation directly into our bank account, we won’t automatically receive your details. Please send us a quick email to let us know—just so we know it was you!

Why Does Testing Cost So Much?

We get asked this a lot — and the simple answer is: we don’t set the price, labs do.

We use only certified, IANZ-accredited labs so results can withstand scrutiny. Some won’t test for us — it could upset their corporate clients, whose products we might test. Others simply aren’t accredited for glyphosate. And by the time you factor in shipping and handling, overseas testing ends up costing about the same as testing here in New Zealand.

Typical lab fees in NZ:

  • Honey: $80–$125 per sample (we use Hill Laboratories at $106.60)
  • Bread, cereals, and most multi-ingredient foods: $350–$405 per sample

Honey is often cheaper to test because it’s a single-ingredient product and is already tested in high volumes for export. Multi-ingredient foods take more work — extra preparation, clean-up, and stricter quality controls — to ensure glyphosate can be accurately detected at very low levels.

What your donations don’t cover:
Buying the food, sterile sample containers, or courier fees (often $50+). We currently cover those costs ourselves.

If we ever need to put donations toward anything beyond lab fees, we’ll be upfront about it – what and why.

Know of a suitably qualified, accredited lab that can offer lower prices — especially for multi-ingredient products? We’d love to hear from you. Every dollar saved means another test we can run.

100% Transparency

Every dollar donated goes directly to testing — not admin, salaries, or overheads — unless otherwise stated. We publish results openly, and we’ll always let you know where your contribution went.

We’re doing this because no one else is.
Food producers have a duty of care — and a moral obligation — to ensure their products are free from toxic and carcinogenic substances. Until they step up, we’ll keep testing, questioning, and challenging them to do what’s right.

But we can only keep going with your help.
