Help Fund Independent Glyphosate Testing of 6 Weet-Bix Products

We’re currently part way through funding the next round of independent glyphosate testing.

You can follow our progress toward the goal below.

The aim of this round is to test six Weet-Bix-style products side by side, under the same conditions and at the same point in time. That matters, because testing one or two products months apart doesn’t allow for a meaningful comparison across the range.

Why Repeat Glyphosate Testing Matters

This next phase is not simply about repeating an earlier test. It’s about building a clearer picture by looking across similar products at once.

Testing six products in a single round allows for a more direct comparison between brands, formulations, and potentially sourcing. It also helps answer a question that sits behind much of this work: whether glyphosate residues, if present, are consistent or whether they vary in ways that aren’t immediately obvious from one-off results.

Previous Weet-Bix Glyphosate Testing (July 2025)

An initial round of testing was carried out in July 2025. That work provided a starting point. This next round is intended to build on it in a more structured way, using a broader comparison set.

Cost of Independent Glyphosate Testing in New Zealand

Each sample costs approximately $415 NZD to test through an accredited laboratory. This includes analysis for glyphosate and related compounds, along with full documentation and reporting.

Testing six products brings the total to $2,495. Progress toward that goal is shown above.

This work is not funded by government or industry. It proceeds one round at a time, depending on whether enough support is there to carry it forward.

Why We’re Asking for Support

We’re aware that this isn’t the easiest time to be asking for support. Cost-of-living pressures are real, and most people are making careful decisions about where their money goes.

That makes it even more important to be clear about what this funding supports. It goes directly to laboratory testing, and the results are published in full, regardless of outcome.

Building a Clearer Picture Over Time

This approach isn’t about drawing conclusions in advance. It’s about measuring carefully, comparing like with like, and building a clearer understanding over time.

No More Glyphosate NZ
No More Glyphosate NZ is an independent, community-funded project focused on transparency around glyphosate use, residues, and regulation in New Zealand. We investigate how pesticides, food production, and policy decisions affect public health and consumer clarity — so New Zealanders can make informed choices in a system that often hides the detail.
