Thank goodness you are doing this work.
That’s how Robyn began her message to us — and what followed was a deeply personal account of illness, discovery, and healing.
In 2010, at age 57, Robyn became seriously unwell with inflammation and arthritis. Despite seeking treatment through conventional medical channels, nothing seemed to work. “Over time, the treatment from doctors wasn’t helping,” she recalls. “I knew I had to look elsewhere.”
It wasn’t until Robyn read The Autoimmune Solution* by Amy Myers, M.D., that she began to believe healing might be possible. The book opened her eyes to the potential of diet, lifestyle, and environmental factors in chronic illness. “I thought, wow — I can heal myself through holistic health.”

That moment sparked a new journey. In 2020, Robyn underwent a battery of tests through Modern Holistic Health, a U.S.-based service that works with clients internationally. The results were confronting.
“My urine test showed high levels of glyphosate, 12 chemical and environmental toxins — some of them high — 5 moulds (1 extremely high), high levels of heavy metals, parasites, and other infections,” she says. “I was shocked to discover what had made me ill.”
Another test revealed she had strong gluten sensitivity, a wheat allergy, and 15 other food sensitivities, along with signs of a moderately high leaky gut — a condition increasingly linked to environmental exposures and immune system dysfunction.
These findings also helped Robyn make sense of something she had been dealing with for decades.
“I’d struggled with anxiety and depression since I was a teenager, and no one could help me,” she says. “It wasn’t until I started detoxing and supplementing with high-quality minerals and vitamins that things shifted — my body hadn’t been absorbing nutrients properly because of the leaky gut, and I believe that affected my brain too.”
Armed with this new information, Robyn began making significant lifestyle changes: detoxing her body gradually, improving hydration with a reverse-osmosis water system, using an air filter, adopting an anti-inflammatory diet, and reducing her exposure to harmful substances wherever possible. She also started working through unresolved trauma — another piece she believes is important in the healing process.
“I feel so good now, especially my brain,” she told us. “My next step is to test again and then work on healing my gut if most of the toxins are gone.”
Robyn also mentioned research by Dr. Alessio Fasano, whose work on intestinal permeability (leaky gut) has raised important questions about how common this condition may be — and how environmental factors like glyphosate might play a role in disrupting gut health.
“This is a dangerous health problem,” she says. “I’m with you. This is such an important subject for everyone to know about so we can move forward with healthy food.”
A Note from No More Glyphosate NZ
Robyn’s experience is one of many we’re hearing from people who believe glyphosate exposure played a role in their health challenges. While everyone’s path to healing is different, we believe these stories matter — and that independent testing, informed choices, and a food system that prioritizes health should be available to all.
